Física Médica Visit and guest lecture in Chile

Dr. Ina Kurth, a radiobiologist and Division Head of the Division Radiooncology / Radiobiology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), was invited by Dr. Lorena Lobos-Gonzáles to present at the XLVII Annual Meeting of the Chilean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (taking place in La Serena, Chile from Oct. 1 to 4, 2024). Ina Kurth's presentation, titled Strategies for Finding Biomarkers to Detect and Combat Radioresistance, was part of the symposium "From Biomolecules, Vesicles, and Nanoconstructs to Biomedical Applications." This visit aimed to deepen the collaboration between Dr. Lobos and Dr. Kurth’s research groups, fostering student exchanges, sharing expertise, and initiating joint projects. 

Furthermore, the visit sought to expand DKFZ’s network with Chilean molecular biology researchers, explore novel research avenues, and identify potential opportunities for future funding. This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening scientific exchange and collaboration in the area of radiobiology with Chile.
