Courses: English for academic purposes B1 and B2
The course integrates various skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) along with the necessary lexical and grammatical content for effective and appropriate communication in academic contexts. Thus, students develop fundamental competencies to navigate their specific areas of study.
It is aimed at applicants and students of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs (master’s, diplomas, etc.) from any university who already possess a pre-intermediate level of English (A2 - B1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and seek to reach an intermediate-advanced level (B1+).
The course is taught by Genoveva Medel, an English teacher with a degree in Education and a master’s in Applied Linguistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. She currently teaches in the English as a Foreign Language program and in the Translation-Interpretation and English Pedagogy programs at the same university; she also conducts research in the area of reading comprehension of English as a second language.
