ANCESTRY MEETS MOLECULAR HEALTH OPPORTUNITIES OF GENETIC DIVERSITY FOR PREDICTIVE, PREVENTIVE, PERSONALISED AND PARTICIPATORY (P4) MEDICINE

Summer School 2023

AIMS
This summer school aims to bring together scientists working at the interface of statistical genetics and molecular medicine to discuss the opportunities and challenges arising from genetic ancestry and inbreeding for P4-Medicine.

The summer school will be held at the Heidelberg Center Latin America from 20–24 November, with a preparatory online meeting on 16 October 2023.

Master’s and PhD students from all relevant disciplines (e.g. biostatistics, population and evolutionary genomics, molecular epidemiology or public health), ideally with practical experience in omics data analysis, are invited to apply. Travel and accommodation costs for the summer school will be covered for selected applicants.

PROGRAMME

Days 1 and 2
Harnessing non-coding RNAs, metabolites and proteins for P4-Medicine

Days 3 and 4
Characterising ancestry and inbreeding to unlock the potential of genetic diversity for P4-Medicine

Day 5
Delineating a research proposal on genetic diversity and new biomarkers for P4-Medicine

Applications including a cover letter, CV and two reference letters should be sent as one single PDF by 31 July 2023 via summerschool023@imbi.uni-heidelberg.de
